Just had our wedding last Friday with DJ Johnny, who is bilingual (husband's family speaks Spanish). The beginning of the planning process was a breeze! We were given access to a personal website where we could create the timeline for our reception and select songs for the specific parts like the first dance, speeches, garter toss, etc. If there were songs I didn't see on their list, I was simply able to send a message and they obtained and played them at our reception.
The variety of songs was top notch! There were many moments where all of the seats in the room were empty because everyone was on the dance floor - exactly what we wanted! I would recommend Event Entertainment to anyone looking for a stellar DJ at an affordable price.

When my husband and I married, we knew we would need to find a way to combine both our cultural backgrounds. He's an American from New Hampshire, I'm bicultural with one half of my family being American, and the other half being Latinos from Ecuador. Music was going to be a very important factor, and we wanted to make sure everyone felt represented and heard something familiar to get up and dance! I searched on google for a bilingual DJ in the Washington DC area, and DJ Johnny was the first to come up through Event Entertainment. His reviews were phenomenal, so I asked my mom to reach out. She said that speaking with the general manager and owner, Dave Holmes, was seamless and he answered all her questions, plus we got a discount for booking as part of the FABnet! After booking Johnny, a couple months before the wedding he send an email requesting a list songs we were interested in hearing. We were so late returning it with all the wedding planning (literally the day before the wedding!), but Johnny was incredibly understanding and professional, and he still took the time to review our choices and accommodate. On the day of the wedding, he arrived on time and looked very sharp. He respected my husband and my wish to forgo being an MC for the traditional bouquet toss and all that, and didn't announce our first dance or anything to allow us some privacy. He did inform guests where to pick up their favors, and we greatly appreciated that. Otherwise, he focused on the music! But most importantly he did a wonderful job of mixing up the music and reading the crowd to know when to change things up to draw people back on to the dance floor. We had people dancing the whole night through our reception, it was such a hit! Overall, we're extremely pleased with DJ Johnny's skills and service! I would highly recommend Johnny for any event that involves music and dancing because he knows how to keep a party going!

Dave Holmes and DJ Johnny were 100% responsive at all times prior to the wedding. At the wedding, DJ Johnny was just perfect! He could not have done a better job. He understood the very diverse crowd (half Venezuelan, half American) perfectly and played each song requested. He was amazing. We were dancing the whole reception!

DJ Jhonny was absolutely amazing my husbands family most of them speak mainly Spanish and he spoke evenly the amounts of English and Spanish so both would understand what was happening. I had time changes and they accommodated everything I had asked for with absolutely no problems. Dj Johnny was great! When he arrived at the venue, he was told to set up inside which he did.The reception was outdoors so I asked him if he could set up outside just minutes before the start of the reception. He had no problem doing so and in a timely manner. This was a black-hispanic wedding and Johnny has everyone on the dance floor.

DJ Johnny did a great job for our wedding on 6/15/13. We wanted a fun
party, with both Spanish and English music and a DJ who
would not take center stage. He did a wonderful job managing
all of that. He was professional, and really did feel out
the crowd and moved seamlessly through both types of music,
depending on the dancing. The rates are competitive for the
area.
The only thing that I would say could be improved is the
response rate for questions building up to the wedding. We
had a number of songs that we wanted that were not on their
online registry of songs. We emailed a ton of questions and
they took a bit to respond. However, in the end they did
listen to our requests and included them at the party, so I
can't complain about outcome. It was probably just my
anxiety as a bride trying to make sure everything is planned
well in advance. Anyhow, I'd definitely recommend them,
especially if you have need of a bilingual bicultural DJ.

ordering stuff the DAY OF THE EVENT... and Dave made it happen.
I was freaking out about the music, lights, etc., but he

was very easy to talk to and he understood our detailed
requests. He was very prepared when we had to make last minutes
changes to our music selections. He did an awesome job

used Johnny Torres who was absolutely wonderful. We got a ton of
compliments on him from our guests. We had a multi-cultural
wedding (I'm American and my husband's Peruvian) and he handled
the diversity in music really well. He had both sides dancing!
He tried very hard to fulfill all our requests and their system
for planning out the reception online is very easy to use and
super convenient. Whenever I had a question they were always
very quick to respond and never gave me any problems. I even
changed the times for him to be there 2 weeks before the wedding
and they did it with no complaints!

We had DJ John Torres of Event Entertainment for our wedding. He definitely kept people on the dance floor until way after midnight. The sound system was excellent. I would have preferred BOSE, which wasn't available at that night and I was very happy with the provided sound system. Event Entertainment has a website where you can make your own play list (if you prefer that), including the timing. The DJ showed up in adequate attire. We had a meeting beforehand which left me with a very good impression. John really listened to us. We had to start the ceremony half an hour late. John was booked only for the reception and since he started while everybody was still eating, because of the earlier delay, he was flexible and played adequate dinner music. And all of this without interrupting the course. He just did what had to be done. I would recommend him ANYTIME.

I have been meaning to write you and John since Monica's and Carlos's wedding. My husband and I and our guests enjoyed John's performance as DJ very, very much. John could probably tell by watching all the happy people on the dance floor! It was a great mix of Latin music, classic rock, and some traditional ethnic songs like Hava Negilah and La Bamba. The music really pulled the families and guests together. Also, we liked John's style in announcing the bridal party and the special dances. He was warm yet discrete and never pushed his own personality over those of the bride, groom, and families.
