I have experience with crowds that range in age from children (pre-teen) all the way to senior citizens and can accommodate the ethnic diversity of your crowd. The client is always in control of the "Do's & Don'ts" in regards to music selection. With some basic guidelines from you, I can assure you nothing inappropriate will be played that would offend a parent or family member. I believe that the quality of the sound and the assembly of good selections can make any event a wonderful time for all.
Before, during and after booking with Event Entertainment, we are always an email or phone call away to answer your questions or to address your concerns. It is our job to make sure planning your special day is stress free.

Dear Prospective Client, let me introduce myself, my name is Philip. I am a Former Marine and believe that in doing business there is no room for failure or excuses. My motto is, Be prepared. and I have adopted a saying all Marines are familiar with, "No Excuse Sir or Ma’am." Rest assured, I take precaution in preparation and backup to ensure a successful event.
Your event is of the utmost importance that everything necessary will be done in my power to make your day a stress free experience.
I have been a DJ for almost 20 years and have a wide variety of experience from birthdays to weddings. I have a sound system that is comprised of JBL and QSC KSeries Speakers with a matching subwolfer, which are individually powered with each speaker having separate power and sound so I never have to worry about having a total system shutdown. I have two full sets of equipment and have backup of my backup in place and ready to go at a moment's notice. I have chosen powered speakers, because it allows me to be able bring more sound with less equipment.
I am a Digital or Computer DJ because I can offer my clientele a much more extensive music collection at all events. By being computerized, I can offer each and every client a very diverse and extensive music selection. I have wireless internet with the capability of accessing music by request that I might not have in my onsite database and I maintain an active collection of over 100,000 songs.
I am equipped with a technical setup to accommodate any special needs for sound at your event. I have the ability to run sound from a central location but yet be setup in a remote area. Utilizing wireless capabilities, I can put speakers out of the way and also be able to provide enough sound with volume levels that prohibit people from being social when others want to dance.
I have the technical knowhow to set up sound in any environment to create the right volume and sound for your special event. I have purchased the sound components for my sound system based on comparisons of three major commercial sound companies. I am confident that no matter how small or large your venue that my sound system can accommodate it with the perfect volume levels and a great sound.

We had Phil Petersam as our wedding DJ & he did a great job! Overall our questions or concerns were always answered promptly by either Dave & Phil from Event Entertainment. My husband & I felt very comfortable having Phil do our wedding after the initial meeting, he was very professional & personable. Event Entertainment has a nice event planning website, through which we were able to pick a lot of our music & timeline (& first dance song, mother-groom dance, etc). This was definitely a nice feature! For the wedding day everything went seamlessly with Phil's help, & he was very flexible when my now husband changed up the timeline so that we entered/were introduced before planned. Everyone had a great time & complimented the event. I was worried my family & friends wouldn't be the type to dance that day, but it worked out great! I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Phil & Event Entertainment.

We were extremely happy with our DJ, Phil Petersam. He played the songs we had requested and also came up with a great mix of songs that kept our guests dancing all night. He was very responsive to any requests my husband or I made during the event, and he also made a fun song suggestion to my husband during the event based on his reading of my husband's dancing. Phil was very professional and did a great job for us. We would definitely recommend him for any event.

Our DJ came to our apartment to meet with use before we even signed a contract or made a deposit, just so we would have a chance to meet him before making our decision. The online planning forms Event Entertainment uses made it very easy to select music and keep things organized. Since we had constant access to the site, we could go in and edit information a bit at a time which was very convenient. In the week before the wedding, DJ Phil called us to go over the entire planner, make sure he knew how to pronounce names for the introductions, and to see if we had any other questions. Our cocktail hour was outdoors, and he had no problem setting up speakers there so guests could hear music the entire time. He played each of the songs we requested, and really made good song selections for everything else he played. People were up and dancing and really enjoying themselves the entire night! He even kept the party going a bit later which we all appreciated, because on your wedding day, you're never ready for it to end!

Phil was our DJ for our wedding and he was GREAT! The week prior to the wedding, I was making changes to our song list up until the night before the wedding and he was very flexible about it. He was easy to get in touch with through email and cell phone. The day of the event was awesome, everyone was out on the dance floor for the whole night. He kept the party going, played tasteful mix of music, and was a huge hit. He was having so much fun that he played at out after party until 2am, which was not apart of our contract. We had so much fun and he really made the night wonderful! We would recommend him to our friends and family and would use him again.

Phil did an outstanding job at our wedding, he made sure even the older people at our wedding enjoyed the music earlier on in the evening. And after dinner and the cake cutting the older members of the family left. Following the cake cutting Phil noticed the younger people were ready to party, and cranked things up a notch. Everyone had a blast, once the music changed tempo, he cranked up the sound and the dance floor was packed for the remainder of the evening. Our wedding was over at 11 but he stayed and played till 1am.

Phil was our DJ he was the right mix of
low key without looking like he was lifeless. He played all of
the music that we discussed, and some songs that fit into what
we would like and that we had not thought to incorporate into
our wedding. The notes he took for our initial consult were
reviewed and some updated when we sat down 2 weeks before the
wedding. At his suggestion we reviewed them to go over some of
the names and the whole plan for the reception. The intros and
all of the special dances were handled perfectly. When it came
time after dinner for the dancing and fun to begin, he noticed
the younger guests getting restless and started things off with
the right music, and once the older members of the family left,
Phil cranked up the music and we had a great party. Our
reception was supposed to end at 11, but it didn't finally wrap
up till 1am. Even our neighbors that were not part of the
wedding were out celebrating with us, overall it was the best
wedding I and my family have ever been a part of, we cant give
Phil enough praise for the job he did for our wedding. He far
exceeded our expectations.

Phil did an awesome job with our wedding reception. He was very helpful over the phone and email in the planning phase leading up to the wedding. I had some reservations about you and Event Entertainment as Elise was doing all of the ground work and I believe, picked you out of a hat!:-). Additionally, I neglected to focus on the music until the very last week prior to her wedding. When I realized that the music was the most important element of her reception I started to move. Unfortunately for you, I became the Micro-Managing Mother of the Bride From Hell. I really had no idea of your style, I was fearful that the music would not reflect their taste and playfulness.
Wow!!! You provided an incredible experience for these two rather unique and special people and all of our guests. You were classy, appropriate, humorous and the musical choices could not have been better! You managed the reception in a way that reflected someone with sensitivity to the room and a great deal of experience. I could not have been more pleased. Because of you the atmosphere really reflected all of the love in the room and the personalities of the bride and groom. I just wanted to finally thank you for the above and beyond amazing job you did DJing for our (Don & Elise Harrington) wedding that took place September 27, 2008. In planning the wedding, my biggest concern and effort was in making the reception a truly fun celebration -- and as everyone knows, that's incredibly tough with weddings when you're planning for a crowd with a variety of tastes and of different generations. Despite my not really knowing too much what I wanted played and my mother's anxious pre-wedding nixing of your suggestions, I can say that I have never had so much fun in my life. You completely tuned into what would get everyone dancing and kept it going all night! Everyone had a blast, if that wasn't already visible :) It's been a month and friends and family are still talking about how awesome the reception was. I've had wedding attendee pros telling me it was their favorite wedding ever. I was so worried I would be too anxious as the bride to feel comfortable dancing with everyone watching, (I've been to weddings where the music wasn't too good and not too many people wanted to dance.. I was dreading something like that happening), but every time I had to stop for photos or even do the cake cutting, all I could think was 'ah man, I want to go back to dancing!'. There were even times where the literal dance floor was filled to the brim and people were dancing off to the sides. You did a noticeably professional job with MCing as well -- I loved when you had my sister announce the bride and groom; that was such a sweet idea. To summarize, the music is obviously the biggest part a wedding reception, and you delivered it better than I could have imagined! I had guests say goodbye because they had to leave only to see them still there to the very end. Our photographer said it was the best wedding she had ever been too (wow)! I was nervous I would be so anxious that I wouldn't have fun but I can honestly say whole heartedly that it really was the happiest day of my life. I can't thank you enough! Phil was great! I got SO MANY compliments on the music and how it was one good song after another. The only complaint I got was no one wanted to get off the dance floor and rest so they were really tired by the end of the wedding. The price was right and Phil was fabulous! I really can't say enough good things about Phil! We had a very laid back event and he really went with the flow, kept the dance floor packed, and was great about everything. Despite a little problem on my end with getting files to him, the music was perfect, he did great, and I felt like he had everything under control. THANK YOU! Also, big thumbs up to Event in general and Dave Holmes for tolerating my incessant questions and emails! You guys were wonderful!

Despite a last minute glitch with our provided CD, our DJ was able to play the music as requested and did a great job! We used DZ for both our ceremony and reception, and our DJ captured the feel of the event and had people on the dance floor all night! Very responsive - I probably emailed Dave at DZ a dozen times with various questions and last minute changes. Amazing value for the budget, right on time, setup like a dream, great to work with and made me feel utterly relaxed about the entire event.

I just filled out the form but wanted to add again how pleased I was with the entire process, your assistance, and Phil's. He called me the night before the wedding to let me know there were issues with the files I sent (names wouldn't come up correctly) but we took care of it the day of and he was fantastic. Right on time, made sure to check in with me when my cousins were making silly requests, made everyone happy & in a dancing mood, and just generally made the event. I've gotten many, many compliments on my "awesome DJ" and have made referrals already.

After the Bride submitted her play list for her wedding to Phil, she completely changed her mind at the wedding and was unhappy about the music she selected. Upon informing Phil that she wanted a totally different selection of music played, Phil wasted no time in getting the exact type of music the Bride wanted for her reception. The Bride and the whole wedding party danced the night away forgetting that they were unhappy with they're original music selections.

Phil was just the right combination. Pleasant and approachable, he tried to get folks on the dance floor but also was content to just let the party happen. Played a great, mixed selection of music that would appeal to all of the age groups and, especially, the birthday girl.
