Dj Richard
DJ Richard Hayes is a native of Queens, N.Y. While growing up in New York City and attending one of the popular high schools in the urban New York area, it allowed him the opportunity to be exposed to many of the hip-hop and other talented performers which are very successful today. Attending many of the hottest house music clubs such as the famous Garage nightclub, Studio 54 Richard watched famous DJ’s such as Larry Levan and Shep Pettibone, It inspired his love for music and encouraged him to learn the craft of becoming a professional Disc-jockey. He began his career in 1979 doing many block parties and sound for park events. His skills and love of music afforded him the contract for the largest employee union DC-37 for all the New York City workers, and many other events. Since 2004 he has relocated to the Baltimore, Maryland area where he continues his career as a professional DJ performing at weddings and corporate events. He also does events for entertainment cruises such as the Spirit Of Washington and Odyssey cruises which allow him the opportunity to be able to perform for a diversified audience. Richard has a musical library which would accommodate every genre that any client would desire.

DJ Richard was amazing! He stuck to to our preferred playlist. He was not only on time the day of but arrived early and was very responsive during the planning process! He provided the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception which required 3 separate setups. Everything went smoothly and DJ Richard was great at reading the crowd! I would highly recommend him!

Event Entertainment is an excellent company. Dave made my husband and I feel at ease from the beginning of our wedding planning. We chose Richard as our DJ, Carroll as our photographer, and Alex as our videographer. The whole team responded quickly to all of our questions. Richard had our guests on the dance floor for the entire reception. Carroll took so many wonderful pictures. Alex did a fabulous job on our wedding video. Our wedding pictures and video were received extremely fast. All of them made us feel very special. We are so happy and thankful that we picked this vendor for our wedding!

DJ Richard was fantastic. Not only does he know
music, but he also knows weddings. For my daughter's wedding, DJ
Richard provided the ceremony music and the reception music.
Using the site provided by Event Entertainment to make music
selections was perfect. We made our choices and that's really
all DJ Richard needed. We did talk briefly before the event, but
because he has a lot of experience with weddings, planning the
event did not require a lot of interaction. During the wedding,
he helped us stay on task by asking questions when he didn't
think we had all the steps. I can't say enough about his
contribution to the success of the wedding. The music was right
for the audience, a mixture of young and old. We partied the
night away and he helped make this happen. I would DEFINITELY
hire him again!
Carroll was the photographer. He, too, was
experienced and creative. He worked unnoticed, yet captured all
the key photos. He was very professional and created several
special moments with the rings, wedding shoes, cake, etc. Both
the DJ and Photographer were on time and lived up to the terms
of the contract. If you want experienced professionals for your
wedding, Event Entertainment provides great services.

When I first met DJ Richard, he told me that he knew how to read the crowd and how to keep the dance floor filled with people. He delivered on both points! I saw family members who don't normally dance get on the dance floor and enjoy themselves. He was also very professional. He called me a few days before my wedding to go over the outline of the day. Overall, I was extremely happy with his services!

DJ Rich was awesome! He kept us dancing all night long. We had seniors to toddlers tearing it up on the dance floor. DJ Rich handled our special request for African music in stride and made sure we had a truly multi-cultural wedding. He is open to song requests , he even let one of our aunties borrow his headphones for a special song request. If you want to have the best party ever, hire DJ Rich.
